The Idea Camp 'Unconference' Integrates Twitter Tool Twubs.com to Enhance Live Features and Engage People not in Physical Attendance Idea Camp ‘Unconference’ Integrates Twitter Tool Twubs.com to Enhance Live Features and Engage People not in Physical Attendance
Participants can also interact on multiple levels by contributing social media content
RIVERSIDE and LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 11, 2009) — 360hubs, an award-winning developer of turnkey Web 2.0 business collaboration solutions, today announced that it has partnered with Idea Camp to integrate its recently launched Twubs.com Twitter groups and search tool with the camp’s websites beginning with its Long Beach conference. Using Twubs.com, conference organizers can provide a live feed using Mogulus and SlideShare and showcase incoming participant Tweets, including video links images, with a Tweet box. Speakers can create, present and archive multiple PowerPoint presentations for the same event and attendees can ask questions live on stage or by tweeting. Responses are then posted live on the site in real time.
“The passive conference experience no longer exists. By allowing our participants – both online and on location – to simultaneously participate and contribute social media content, Twubs has completely transformed the way people experience our conferences,” said Charles Lee, creator of the Idea Camp. “They’re also able to build community, relationships and interact on multiple levels.”
By adding the “Live Presentation” feature, Twubs will now be able to provide any conference or trade event the opportunity to have further reach than those physically in attendance.
“Twubs.com can be integrated into any conference or tradeshow such as Idea Camp to enhance live events, create a central communication portal, connect people within an industry and provide event organizers with an efficient tool to empower messaging and capture relevant communication,” said Tony Ferraro, president of 360hubs. “We’re thrilled to be working with them to take their show to the next level by leveraging the powerful social media capabilities of Twubs.com.”
About Twubs.com Launched in late April, Twubs.com is a groups and search tool that allows users to search for groups through hashtags used on Twitter. After selecting groups they’re interested in, Twubs provides a central community-driven hub or “Twub” where they can access real time tweets, twitpics, and videos without having to click on an external link. Users can further personalize the Twub by creating a description for the hashtag related to the Twub and pull any content from any feed such as RSS or site such as Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo or twitpic into one collaborative environment making it easier to find relevant content for a favorite event or group, or other people with similar interests. Users can search for movie reviews, restaurants, travel destinations, items for sale, jobs and more in real-time from real people — all in one place. They can also embed any Twub into their social networking site that accepts Java script. Twubs.com also recommends users to tweets they should follow based on their respective areas of interest and introduces Twitter users to “Meta-Hashtags,” a classification system for hashtags (#__) that will allow them to identify a purpose for a hashtag and then quickly and easily organize content around it.
